About Evolution Aqua Varipump 30000
The Evolution Aqua Varipump 30000 is a controllable, submersible pond pump supplied with a wired control box to vary output smoothly. Evolution Aqua publishes a maximum flow of 30,000 litres per hour for this model. The unit is supplied with two cable runs (mains to control box and control box to pump) and a stepped hosetail that supports 50 mm (2"), 40 mm and 32 mm flexible hose or a 50 mm pressure pipe connection. The control box provides three-button operation (on/off, increase flow, decrease flow) and displays a power level (0–100) and operating wattage; the vendor describes the drive as using sine-wave technology for smooth control. The manufacturer provides product-protection ratings: the pump is suitable for full submersion (IPX8) while the control box is weather/rain protected (IPX4) and must not be submerged. Installation guidance from Evolution Aqua states the pump is not self-priming (a check/non-return valve and priming are required for dry installations), and operating temperature limits are 0 °C to 35 °C. Physical dimensions published by the manufacturer are 370 mm (L) × 155 mm (W) × 205 mm (H). A 2-year manufacturer warranty is stated for Varipump products. Evolution Aqua does not list pond-volume, fish- or koi-capacity numbers for this pump, nor any integrated UV/UVC lamp wattage (not applicable). Some older Evolution Aqua documentation hosted on their support site contains differing numeric values for certain specs for this model; see Limitations for details.
Best for
Large ponds and high-flow applications where variable-speed control is required (manufacturer describes the Varipump range as suitable for large ponds)
Things to consider
There are conflicting first‑party Evolution Aqua documents for this exact model: the current product page and Master Varipump manual state max flow 30,000 lph, max head 6.5 m and a maximum wattage of 290 W, but an older Evolution Aqua support manual lists different values for the 30000 model (example: head 5.5 m and 450 W). Because official Evolution Aqua documents disagree, maxHeadM and powerWatts are set to null here and you should consult Evolution Aqua directly if a single authoritative numeric value is required. Evolution Aqua does not publish pond-volume, fish or koi capacities, pump weight, or an operating pressure in bar/psi for this model.
Installation
Install the control box above water (IPX4) and do not submerge it. The pump is submersible (IPX8). Do not operate the pump dry; prime the system and fit a non-return/check valve for any dry installation. Use the supplied stepped hosetail or 50 mm pressure pipe as recommended; the manufacturer recommends 2" (50 mm) pipe for the 30000 model. Observe the permitted operating temperature range of 0 °C to 35 °C. The mains-to-control and control-to-pump cable runs are supplied (2.0 m and 10.0 m respectively) and use a weatherproof 4‑pin connector between control box and pump.
Safety
Do not operate outside the manufacturer-stated temperature range (0 °C–35 °C). Do not operate the pump without water. The control box must not be submerged. Fit appropriate electrical isolation and follow local electrical regulations for pond equipment. For dry installations a non-return/check valve and priming are required before startup.
