About Hozelock Bioforce Revolution 6000
The Hozelock Bioforce Revolution 6000 (HZ 1352, part no. 1352 0000) is a pressurised, pump‑fed external pond filter that combines mechanical foam filtration, biological media and an integrated UVC clarifier. The unit is intended to sit above ground (or be part‑buried) and is not submersible. It is supplied with a 5.0 m 3‑core cable for hard‑wiring and is designed to be earthed. The manufacturer states an 18 W UVC lamp for model 1352 and includes features such as a lamp interlock, a UV indicator lens to check lamp operation and a removable foam bucket with a winding/cleaning handle and diverter valve for flushing waste. Manufacturer documents give a Qmax (maximum flow rate) of 3,000 litres per hour for this model and specify a maximum permitted pump head (installation limit) of 5.0 metres. Hozelock also publishes hose and inlet/outlet compatibility: supplied hosetails accept Cypriflex hose sizes 25 mm, 32 mm and 40 mm, and the manufacturer recommends using 40 mm hose on the Bioforce Revolution to avoid flow restriction. The filter carries an IP57 rating and a stated maximum permitted water temperature of 35 °C. Hozelock provides model spares and servicing information (foam cubes, foam bucket servicing and UVC lamp replacement) in its documentation. Where the manufacturer documentation reviewed does not state a detail (for example total electrical power consumption of the complete assembled unit, physical dimensions or net weight), those items remain unspecified and should be checked in the full product manual or with Hozelock if required.
Best for
Mechanical and biological filtration with integrated UV clarification for garden ponds up to 12,000 L (without fish) or 6,000 L with fish, where an above‑ground pressurised filter is required.
Things to consider
Manufacturer documentation reviewed does not provide total electrical power consumption (watts) for the assembled unit, physical dimensions or weight. The manual presents two pump‑related pieces of guidance: a model‑specific recommendation (Max Aquaforce pump size 4,000 L/h and Qmax 3,000 L/h) and a separate general range warning (do not exceed 8,000 L/h). Both statements are quoted by Hozelock and are reported here without reconciliation. No dedicated koi/heavy‑stock litre rating is provided by the manufacturer for model 1352.
Installation
Unit is weatherproof but NOT submersible; site upright only. May be installed above ground or part‑buried (follow manual minimum clearances). Hard‑wire connection recommended; unit must be earthed. RCD (30 mA) recommended. Do not exceed a pump maximum head of 5.0 m. Use the largest practical hose diameter (manufacturer recommends 40 mm Cypriflex hose) to avoid flow restriction. Follow the official installation instructions and wiring guidance in the manufacturer manual; consult a qualified electrician for wiring.
Maintenance
Service the removable foam bucket and cleaning system as described in the manual; replace foam cubes and UVC lamp with manufacturer spares. The lamp interlock and UV indicator lens are provided to assist safe lamp checks. Use Hozelock spares/service kits listed for the Bioforce Revolution range.
Safety
Do not operate submerged. Observe the lamp interlock and do not access the lamp chamber with power applied. Unit must be earthed and hard‑wired per manual instructions; use an RCD (30 mA) as recommended. Do not exceed maximum permitted water temperature (35 °C). Follow all safety and wiring instructions in the official manual.
