OASE FiltoClear 5000 GB
Model: FiltoClear 5000
A pressurised OASE pond filter with integrated 18 W UVC clarifier, rated for up to 5,000 l/h and intended for ponds up to 5,000 litres (lower capacities for fish and koi).

About OASE FiltoClear 5000 GB
The OASE FiltoClear 5000 is a pressurised pond filter with an integrated UVC clarifier as described on OASE product pages. The unit is specified by the manufacturer with a maximum flow of 5,000 litres per hour and an electrical power entry of 18 W; OASE also lists UVC power as 18 W. OASE states suitable pond capacities as up to 5.0 m³ (5,000 L) for general/no‑fish ponds, up to 2.5 m³ (2,500 L) for ponds with fish and up to 1.2 m³ (1,200 L) for koi/heavily stocked ponds. The filter is a sealed/pressurised type and includes multiple foam media (OASE describes “four different filter foams” and lists particular foam quantities in its specification table), a patented pull/cleaning mechanism for sponge removal, and a two‑way valve that allows dirty water to be returned to the pond or sent to waste during cleaning. Manufacturer details also show inlet/outlet and sludge discharge connection options of 38 / 50 mm (1½" and 2"), a net weight of 7.51 kg for the single filter unit, rated voltage 220–240 V 50/60 Hz, and a maximum operating pressure of 0.2 bar. OASE notes that the UV lamp can be changed while the unit is running and that the UV housing is removable to protect the ballast. Manuals and spare parts are shown as available from OASE. Several items commonly sought by installers (for example a maximum head in metres, IP rating, electrical protection class or operating temperature limits) are not stated on the FiltoClear 5000 product pages and are therefore not presented here.
Best for
General ponds up to 5,000 L; ponds with fish up to 2,500 L; koi / heavily stocked ponds up to 1,200 L (manufacturer-stated capacities).
Things to consider
OASE product pages for the FiltoClear 5000 do not state a maximum head in metres, an IP/protection rating, operating temperature limits, or electrical protection class; these items are therefore unknown. OASE lists both 'power consumption' and 'UVC power' as 18 W on the product page (the listing does not separate pump draw from UVC ballast power). There is a discrepancy across some OASE pages regarding dimensions (GB product text references 380 × 310 mm for the filter, while some set/product pages show 380 × 380 × 370 mm); the GB single-unit product page values were used here. Set pages that include a pump show different weights and pump data—do not conflate set values with the standalone FiltoClear 5000 filter.
Installation
Manufacturer-supplied connection sizes are 38 / 50 mm (1½"/2"). The unit is pressurised; OASE notes a maximum operating pressure of 0.2 bar. Features that assist installation and servicing include a metal clamping ring with lever, OASE's two-way cleaning valve, and a removable UV housing. Rated voltage is 220–240 V / 50/60 Hz. Consult the OASE instruction manual (available from the product downloads) for detailed installation requirements.
Maintenance
OASE describes a patented pull/cleaning mechanism for the filter foams and states the UV lamp can be replaced while the unit is running; spare parts and replacement foams/UV bulbs are listed on OASE product pages. The manufacturer manual should be followed for maintenance intervals and procedures; no specific maintenance intervals are provided on the FiltoClear 5000 product page.
Safety
OASE notes the UV housing is removable to protect the ballast and that the UV lamp can be changed while running. Rated voltage is 220–240 V / 50/60 Hz. Other safety details such as IP rating, required RCD protection or electrical class are not listed on the product page—refer to the official OASE manual for full safety and electrical guidance.
