About OASE FiltoClear 13000 GB
The OASE FiltoClear 13000 GB is a buried/pressure pond filter that combines mechanical/biological sponge filtration with an integrated UVC clarifier. The unit is designed to be installed partly or fully buried, with all operating elements accessed in the lid. Manufacturer-stated electrical and UVC power are both 24 W and the supplied power cable length is 5.00 m. OASE lists the FiltoClear 13000 as suitable for ponds up to 13.0 m³ (13,000 litres), for ponds with fish up to 7.0 m³ (7,000 litres) and for ponds with koi/heavy stock up to 3.5 m³ (3,500 litres). The filter uses multiple finely structured filter foams (OASE describes four different filter foams and lists spare foam sets). The unit provides water inlets/outlets and sludge discharge connections sized 38 / 50 mm (also referenced as 1½" and 2"). Features shown on the manufacturer page include OASE bypass technology (to maintain flow and reduce clogging), a patented cleaning/squeezing handle for the sponges, a 2-way drain valve (route cleaning water to the pond or waste), two separate pump inputs for parallel pump operation and two flexible outlets for return lines or waterfalls. OASE lists spare parts such as a 24 W UVC replacement bulb and a replacement foam set. OASE gives a maximum operating pressure of 0.2 bar and states the UVC housing protects the ballast from sunlight and moisture; the manufacturer also notes the UVC lamp can be changed while the unit is running. The product page contains an internal inconsistency on maximum flow (see limitations). No maximum head, flow/head curve or IP rating is stated on the product page.
Best for
["Buried or pressure-installed garden ponds requiring combined mechanical/biological filtration and UVC","General ponds up to 13,000 L (manufacturer-stated)","Ponds with fish up to 7,000 L (manufacturer-stated)","Koi or heavily stocked ponds up to 3,500 L (manufacturer-stated)"]
Things to consider
The OASE product page contains conflicting statements about maximum flow: the specification table lists 9,000 l/h while the product description paragraph mentions 8,000 l/h. Because the manufacturer page presents both values for the same model (SKU 77789) and the conflict is unresolved in the supplied research, maxFlowLph is left null. Maximum head (m) is not stated on the OASE product page and is therefore null. The product dimensions are given only as a two-value string (“380 mm × 510 mm”) without axis labels on the page. No IP/protection rating, flow-versus-head curve or detailed flow-at-head points are provided on the manufacturer page. All numeric values and claims are taken only from the cited OASE product page.
Installation
Manufacturer states the filter can be buried and that all operating elements are accessible in the lid. Observe the manufacturer-listed max. operating pressure of 0.2 bar. Two separate pump inputs allow parallel pump connection; two flexible outlets can be used for return lines or waterfalls. Sludge discharge connection and inlet/outlet sizes are 38 / 50 mm. The UVC housing is shown as protecting the ballast from sunlight and moisture.
Maintenance
The unit uses multiple filter foams that are cleaned using the patented squeezing/cleaning handle. OASE lists replacement foam sets and a 24 W UVC replacement bulb as spare parts. The manufacturer notes the UVC lamp can be changed while the unit is running. Follow manufacturer instructions (manual) for replacement parts and maintenance procedures.
Safety
Manufacturer-stated maximum operating pressure is 0.2 bar — do not exceed this. The product page states the UVC ballast is protected by its housing; the page also states the UVC lamp can be changed while running. Refer to the official instruction manual for full electrical and UV-safety procedures (manual not included here).
