About OASE BioPress 4000
The OASE BioPress 4000 is a compact pressurised pond filter with an integrated UVC clarifier sold as a filter-only unit (pump available separately as part of a Set). It is intended for mechanical and biological cleaning of small ponds and includes filter foams for mechanical filtration. OASE publishes this model as suitable for general/no-fish ponds up to 4.0 m³, ornamental fish ponds up to 2.0 m³ and koi/heavily stocked ponds up to 1.0 m³. The unit includes an integrated UVC lamp: OASE lists the lamp output as 7 W and separately lists UVC power consumption as 11 W (both values are shown by the manufacturer on the product page). The BioPress 4000 is a pressurised housing designed to be connected to a pump and pipework — it is supplied with hose connections and supports inlet/outlet connection sizes 19 / 25 / 32 / 38 mm (also listed as ¾", 1", 1¼", 1½"). The filter contains one blue filter foam and two black filter foams as supplied media; the product page also indicates "Number of bio-surface elements: 0" for this model. The unit is compact (225 mm diameter × 335 mm height) and light (net weight 2.918 kg) and can be buried up to the lid according to the manufacturer. Things to consider
OASE does not publish a maximum flow rate or maximum head for the filter-only BioPress 4000 (SKU 47601) on the product page; pump performance figures shown on the BioPress Set 4000 pages apply to the set and not to this filter-only SKU. OASE lists both "UVC power: 7 W" and "Power consumption UVC: 11 W" on the product page without further explanation; both values are manufacturer-published. Protection rating (IP), overall unit electrical ratings beyond the UVC lamp, and other installation electrical details are not stated on the product page.
Installation
Can be buried up to the lid (manufacturer statement). Supplied with hose connections to suit 19 / 25 / 32 / 38 mm pipework. The filter is a passive/pressurised housing and requires a separate pump or set containing a pump for water feed; pump specifications for the Set are separate from this filter-only SKU.
Maintenance
OASE lists replacement consumables: UVC replacement bulb (SKU 57111) and replacement foam set (SKU 15558). The unit includes a pollutant level indicator to show when cleaning/maintenance is required (manufacturer-listed).
